![]() ![]() Especially the setting didn’t do it anymore, because nothing in that story had to do with life as a senior in high school. So I had trouble to get trough the last book. ![]() I also did not like that in the fourth book Lips looses her badass vibe a lot because she is quite obsessed with getting laid by one or more of her guys. The story could have been set in College or even later and it would be more believable. I did not like that the MC’s were 15 year old to beginn with, but they acted like people who were at least 25, much more mature than teenagers. I liked the girl power, the friendship so seemingly different girls formed and became a force in their own rights. ![]() ![]() But she is also ambitious, because she wants to have a good life away from crime she wants to get the highest marks and with them she wants to earn a scholarship for college. I really loved, that Lips is not the meek shy girl but a badass and she hold her own against her Bullies. A lot of secrets of the five are revealed and I really loved the girl power in this book. The older brother pretty often makes an appearance and get them into trouble. Now Lips and Avery are best friends and she gets to know the whole group a lot better. I had to shorten the review so it's mainly about book 2. To read the full review go to Just drop out. This was a buddy read with the #cakeeaters from RHR. Sarah outdid herself with this one and the conclusion to this series was incredibly breath-taking! I loved how all those loose ends were tied together, how she managed to give each and every single character not only the time to shine but also the necessary space to develop, to grow. So here I am, finally facing this review and no longer denying those words that craved to spill out of my fingers for such a long time. My heart and mind persisted that I write it down and who am I to deny my souls biggest desire? ![]() For a while I didn’t even know if I wanted to write a review, but the more time passed and the longer I thought about it, the more I realized that I just had to get it out of my system. Two entire years! This isn’t only a testimonial to how destroyed I was after finishing this series but also to how strongly I felt about it. I was so thoroughly heartbroken that it took me TWO years to write this review. “Once upon a time, in a land long since burned to ash, there lived a young princess who loved her kingdom …”Īnd once upon a time there was a reviewer that loved this story and its characters so damn much that it broke her when it ended. ![]() ![]() ![]() Tess repeats a lot of things in her internal dialogue, like she's listing things out as she tries to figure something out, and it got too repetitive. Now, Jennifer Lynn Barnes can certainly write-really, really well-but a few things in this book bothered me. I did have a few minor qualms with The Fixer, and they were mainly with the writing. And of course, since Tess is Ivy's sister, people assume that Tess is a fixer, too-and maybe Tess unintentionally is. She works in D.C., and when someone has a problem she fixes it, and she gets stuff done-and does it on the down low. In short, Ivy Kendrick is Scandal's Olivia Pope, minus sex with the president. In D.C., she gets driven around by Ivy's personal assistant Bodie (he's fantastic), attends a very, very nice school, and quickly learns what exactly it is that the (in)famous Ivy Kendrick does: she fixes things. The Fixer tells the story of Tess Kendrick, a sixteen year old (not very willingly) brought away from her grandfather and his ranch in Montana to live with her older sister Ivy in Washington D.C. And despite a few minor issues, I liked this twisty, problem solving novel. As a big, big, big fan of The Naturals and Killer Instinct, I was ready to devour more of Barnes's books, and I loved that her latest sounded kind of similar to The Naturals series. ![]() When I first heard about The Fixer I was excited because NEW JENNIFER LYNN BARNES. ![]() ![]() ![]() Aditya Mukherjee is author of other books also like: Imperialism, Nationalism and The Making Of The Indian Capitalist Class, and Selected Works of Jawaharlal Nehru.
